Your Data, Explained Clearly
This policy describes what Video Insight AI may process, why it is processed, and how users can contact support.
Effective date: June 13, 2026
1. Overview
Video Insight AI is a video playback companion app. Depending on how you use the app, Video Insight AI may process device identifiers, playback context, subscription state, feedback submissions, and content needed to provide optional cloud-backed AI features. Video Insight AI Free may include advertising, while Video Insight AI Pro is ad-free.
Pro subscribers do not see in-app banner ads in the main app interface.
2. Data We May Process
- Basic app installation and session identifiers used to maintain service state.
- Subscription and transaction verification data required to validate in-app purchases.
- Playback-related context such as current video identifier, title, language, or URL when needed for app features.
- Transcript text or user questions when users request summaries or AI answers.
- Feedback text and optional contact information if users submit bug reports or improvement suggestions.
- Technical diagnostics such as app version, OS version, device class, region, and timestamps for service reliability and abuse prevention.
- Advertising-related data processed by Google AdMob to serve non-personalized banner ads, such as approximate location inferred from IP address, device identifiers, ad interactions, performance data, crash data, and diagnostics.
3. How We Use Data
- To operate playback-adjacent features, subtitle tools, and app state restoration.
- To verify subscription entitlements and restore purchases.
- To generate optional summaries and AI-assisted answers requested by users.
- To measure quota usage, prevent abuse, and improve reliability.
- To investigate crashes, bugs, and support requests.
- To show and measure non-personalized banner ads in the Free plan.
4. Advertising
Video Insight AI Free may use Google AdMob and the Google Mobile Ads SDK to show non-personalized banner ads. The app does not request App Tracking Transparency permission, does not access IDFA, and does not perform cross-app or cross-site tracking. Google may process advertising, device, interaction, approximate location, performance, crash, and diagnostic data as described in Google's advertising and privacy documentation.
5. Cloud Processing
Some optional features depend on cloud services operated by Video Insight AI or infrastructure providers acting on our behalf. For example, transcript processing, AI summaries, AI questions, entitlement verification, and limited analytics may require transmitting relevant request data to backend services.
6. Purchases and Subscriptions
Subscription purchases are processed through Apple. Video Insight AI may process transaction and entitlement data needed to verify whether a user has access to subscription features. Video Insight AI Pro removes in-app ads.
7. Data Retention
We retain data only for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the service, enforce quotas, maintain security, resolve support issues, and meet legal obligations.
8. Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We may share limited data with service providers that help us host infrastructure, process subscriptions, operate optional AI-backed features, or provide and measure ads in the Free plan.
9. Your Choices
- You may choose not to use optional AI-backed features.
- You may choose whether to send support messages or optional contact details.
- You may manage subscriptions through your Apple account settings.
- You may manage advertising consent choices when the option is available in your region.
